The Central Anatolia Region is one of our Seven Geographical regions. There are a total of 13 provinces in our region. These are Ankara, Eskişehir, Çankırı, Kırıkkale, Kırşehir, Konya, Aksaray, Nevşehir, Yozgat, Kayseri, Sivas, Niğde and Karaman. There are countless historical buildings and natural beauty areas to visit and see in our region. There are some places in these that you should definitely see. Here are 10 places that must be visited in the Central Anatolia Region.

1-Anıtkabir

It is located in Çankaya, which is the central district of Ankara Province. Here is the monumental tomb of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founding leader of the Republic of Turkey, located in Ankara Anıttepe. Many domestic and foreign tourists visit here during the year. This should be the first place you will go when your way to Ankara.

2-Wonderland

Wonderland, located in Sincan district of Ankara province, has been opened to service as a large park by Ankara Metropolitan Municipality. Wonderland, one of the largest urban parks in Europe, has enabled the development of Sincan district in terms of tourism. There are sports fields, picnic areas, cultural areas, green areas, wedding hall and recreation areas such as fairy tale island in Wonderland Park. You can visit the Wonderland, which is a fairy tale-like place located in Sincan district, and you can have fun moments with your loved ones here.

3-Cappadocia Balloon Trip

Cappadocia Region is one of the most wonderful places in Nevsehir province. This region is a very wonderful region. You can see every corner of it, take pictures of it and immortalize it. 5-Mevlana Museum and Mausoleum

It is located in Aziziye Neighborhood in Karatay district center of Konya. Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi, who is one of the important figures of our history with his words and life, is a person who has conquered the hearts of the whole world with tolerance. Mevlana, who says come back no matter what you are, is remembered with respect by the whole world. For this reason, Mevlana tomb is visited by millions of people every year. The Mausoleum of Mevlana, which gives the city a different atmosphere, is located in a large garden. the tomb, which was built on the death of Mevlana in 1274, has taken its present form with additions over time. There are tombs belonging to Mevlana and his family in the mausoleum. The Mevlana museum is located right next to the tomb. There are sculptures and objects in this museum that tell about the life of the dervishes and the Kerims who founded manuscripts of works from the Seljuk period. I recommend you to visit the Mausoleum of Mevlana, which has a peaceful structure in a large area.


6-Lake Meke

It is located on the borders of Karapınar district of Konya. Meke Lake, which is located 8 km beyond the Karapınar-Ereğli land road, is a two-stroke volcanic crater lake. Lake Meke is fed by rainwater and groundwater. With the islands located in the lake, the lake looks like an evil eye bead. Meke Lake, which is home to a large number of bird species, has been declared a natural protected area and protection gold has been taken. I recommend you to see the magnificent beauty of Lake Meke.


7-Ihlara Valley

Aksaray is located in the Güzelyurt district of our province. It is about 40 km away from the city center. A magnificent canyon was formed here by the lava sprayed from the Hasandagi Volcano under the influence of external forces. If you fall on your way here, you should definitely see this unique beauty. It is found here in many churches and monasteries.


8-Eskişehir Wax Sculptures Museum

The Wax Sculptures Museum is the first and only example of the Madame Tussaud's Museum in Eskişehir, which is located in many countries of the world, in our country. This museum is located in Odunpazarı district of Eskişehir province. this museum met with its visitors in 2013 with the contributions of Eskişehir Mayor Yılmaz Büyükerşen. First of all, I would like to give some information about Wax Sculpture. Wax: it is a material suitable for making vivid-looking sculptures. The first sculpture museum made of this material was the Madame Tussauds Museum, which opened in London in 1835. Later, this sculpture museum began to be seen in various parts of the world. in 2013, it was opened in our country.There are a total of 160 sculptures in this museum, especially Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and his family. There are also statues of these statues, commanders who fought heroically during the war of independence, statesmen who have ruled the state of the Republic of Turkey until today, world-famous politicians, important people in the sports and art community. These sculptures are composed in 5 different sections. While you have the opportunity to take photos in each section, it is charged to take photos in Hall D section. Taking a photo here requires paying a fee of 7 liras.


9-Erciyes Ski Resort

It is located about 25 km from the city center of Kayseri. The Erciyes Ski Resort located on the extinct volcano mountain is a place worth seeing. Whoever comes here wants to come again. There are also accommodation places. It is in service until March.


10-Divriği Grand Mosque

It is the most important historical building of Sivas. It has a tremendous stonework. It is a masterpiece of Islamic Architecture. It was made by Turan Melek Shah, one of the sons of Mengüç. The built date is 1128-1229 years. It is located at the foot of the Igimbat Mountain. It has a rectangular plan. The most striking aspect of the mosque is the motifs embroidered on the doors and columns. There is a Darüşşifa to the south of the mosque and adjacent to it. The crown door of the Darüşşifa attracts attention with its embroideries. Divriği Ulu Mosque and the Darüşşifa located next to it are one of our important historical buildings that should be seen with its magnificent structure.
